Thank you to our valued Committee members, Sub Committee members and volunteers
Can I have a show of appreciation for all of them.
In saying this, I would like to acknowledge the hard work done by the spouses of our Committee members and Volunteers.
We take this opportunity to thank our wonderful volunteers Heather, Gayle, Debbie, Patty, Carl, Malcolm, Aldred, John, Leonie, Gwen, Brian, Alan, Lisa, Lou – Bingo caller extraordinaire, Tony, Philo, U/Ron, May, Armen, Violet, June, Lyndon, Jean, Rita, Norman, Sherry, Montel, Alister and our Committee and Sub Committee and many other people for all their assistance and support.
As always, thanks to Jeanette and Raelene for updating the website Jeanette and Raelene for Facebook, Dance flyers and now the table decorations. Marcus, our newest Committee member and proud father, thanks for jumping in and doing what has to be done. I always tell people to do their best to check our website because it changes from day to day!
Can I please encourage members to give their email addresses to Jeanette because the updated emails from Jeanette gets the maximum attention and this in turn leads to better attendance at events.
Once again I appeal to members present, to advise your family and friends of the various tours, trips both interstate and overseas to keep our Association going in 2021 as we could not cover much ground in 2020 due to COVID. We hope and pray for better days ahead.
Please encourage family and friends to become members as we get more recognition from the Victorian Government as our membership grows.
Thank you to all the wonderful people who have supported Mechanics Hall once a month – Whist, Lunch, Bingo and Dancing – we would be lost without your support on these days. Thanks to our Musicians and dancers.
This year together with Rodney and Jeanette I have written Grants to the Cities of Kingston and Monash and the Victorian Multicultural Commission and we have been successful – the amounts are in the Financial statements being passed around. City of Kingston has given us a Partnership Grant of $1500 for 3 years because they value what we are doing in the Community. We are also working with MPs Steve Dimopoulos and t Jordan Crugnale MP, State Member for Bass to further the aims of our Association in Pakenham especially with our new four bedroom house in North Pakenham on 2.5 acres. I have been on various Zoom Conferences during lockdown with other Community Groups and learnt about their work through challenging times.
If anyone can help us with sponsorship for our dances, we would really appreciate it. It could be a Bunnings, Woolworths or Coles voucher, every little bit helps.
Our Annual 49th Anglo-Indian Association Carol Singing Virtual Celebration which will be held on Saturday 5th December 2020 from 7 pm via YouTube has been funded by the Department of Premier of Cabinet, Multicultural Festivals and Events for this Digital Event. Jeanette will send out the link via email and thanks in advance to Lloyd Seaman and his wife Geraldine for connecting 500 of their subscribers to this link.
Please encourage family and friends to attend our Tocumwal Weekend Carols Trip on 19 and 20 December $150 per person – the evening’s dinner dance with OZ Catering looking after us.
So what’s been keeping me awake at night in 2020
