The Anglo-Indian Australasian Association of Victoria
To give our members some good news - 2020 started off very good. Early January 2020, the Association was lucky enough to purchase a 2.5 acre block with a four bedroom house in North Pakenham with the settlement happening in late May 2020.
Our FUTURE PLANS for the Property depends if Association will receive government funding to construct a multi purpose hall and a retirement village where Members can rent or purchase.
The size of the land we can construct a Community Centre and build at least 50/ 1 bedroom appartments.
We will keep everyone informed with the progress of the plans for the Property in Pakenham through emails and our website.
In October 2021, the Association will be celebrating the Golden Jubilee - 50 years of The Anglo-Indian Australasian Association. We are planning to conduct this special event at the Crown Palladium, as we celebrated our successful 40th Anniversary Ruby Ball at the Palladium in 2011. We would like our members to register their interest in attending this event, because we cannot conduct the Ball at the Palladium without the numbers.
During the Covid 19 virus Mr Rodney Almeida, Mr Norman Fuller and Mr Alister Fuller have been cooking meals for the Residents who live at St Joseph's Rooming House. As with all the restrictions being in place it has been hard for the elderly members to go shopping.
Due to Covid 19 this year the Christmas in July trip did not ahead. Last year we had 110 members go to Lakes Entrance and we celebrated Christmas in July at the RSL Club in Lakes Entrance. It is not too late, but I would like to send my greetings to those who celebrated Christmas in July.
Anglo-Indian Day was on the 1st August, another function we did not have due to the Covid 19 virus. But I would like to wish everyone a Happy Anglo-Indian Day.
